Lately, I’ve been wondering as I observe my 5-year-old who was born nearly six weeks early: Are children who were born prematurely more likely to be extra-sensitive when it comes to noise, food, pain, etc.?
After comparing notes with another mom of a child born prematurely, I decided to find out more. I talked with Dr. Michele Raddish, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician at Providence Neurodevelopmental Center for Children, who runs a followup program for babies who are born prematurely.
